Often this can be down to the belief that Android handsets don't playback WMV format videos natively.

There are two ways around this problem. The first is to convert your WMV files on the PC to some format that'll be played back natively on your own Android without any additional software; second is to take benefit of one from the many apps on the Android Market that supply WMV support, but what is the most effective WMV player for Android?

The first WMV player for Android that you should check out is iMPlayer ' iFlux Movie Player, a favorite choice for the Android Market that's available for version 2.1 ' devices using a newer version with the OS aren't supported.

Describing it as the 'fastest Android video player' the developers of yxplayer have set themselves a top target ' though support across all Android devices and support for WMV, FLV, DIVX and even video streaming via HTTP and FTP, this claim looks achievable.

Whether Yxplayer is the top WMV player for Android or not is really a hard you to definitely call. Most crucially with this free Android app, the developers have included Android 2.3 Gingerbread support, thereby future-proofing the app to the foreseeable.

Free in the Android Market, you can also install Yxplayer via a QR code available at
